Say we are leaving for Oahu in a few days, has anyone gone on those submarines they have there??
Are they worth it and do you see fish etc??

My parents went on one in Maui a few years ago. I guess it's like whale watching, somedays you see a lot, somedays not so much. My mom said it was cramped, my dad though it was ok.

submarine is decent, they do not/ cannot get close to any good reefs though, they tend to go down near sand bottomed area, and then go by areas with small amounts of rock/ coral. but it you have something keeping you from diving/ snorkeling they are fun.
have fun, I wont be back there for 3 more years :0(

Thank you so much for the replies and the video too. That saves me alot of money and wondering what it would be like.
I think I have better views in my tank......

My husband snorkels, I have tried it but very nervous about it. The best snorkeling we ever did was in Mexico, wow did we ever see alot.
The Haunuma Bay in Oahu was very disappointing last year and we will not return there.
Ketill, to bad you have to wait for 3 years to go back. We have been going every year, this is like our second home.......

Hanauma bay wasn't good?? that's so sad! I remember it teeming with fish but that was like 10+ years ago.
I think if you want to see fish and corals your best bet is to go snorkling. i was in Maui a while bnack and we went to one of the santuaries (can't remember which) but there were Loads of fish and corals and it's easy once you get the hang of it.
