i thought thats what you did. Just stick the bottom end in the sand a little, and off it goes... Then again, ive never had a feather duster... But i want one, and ive been doing some research, and i think i read that somewhere.

I have 3 of them, I put two in the live rocks and the other is laying on the bottom. they do just fine. What you're suppose to do is have them laying on the sand because I believe it feeds off of things on the sand and plankton as well. You can also bury the end of hem into the sand. I tried to bury one of mine in the sand the only problem was that the tube felt so fragile to me, it felt like it was going to tear, and I didn't want to tear it. Anywho, they are really cool.

you can put them in the sand or in the LR they will excrete a glue that will attach them to the LR some times they produce to much and you see it all over your tank if you do dont worry it'll go away after a day and its not harmful
if you put them in the rock place a small rock thats not heavy something light to hold them in place until the glue themselfs to the rock, also you really dont need to feed them but if you like to a few drops twice a week of planktonic food should work well

That's so neat I had no idea they did that. I have seen some attached to liverock in the stores, and I was like wow, how do they do that, Now I know.
