hawiian strawberry crab

any boddy have any experiance with these??? whta do they eat?? how big do they get??? are they reef safe??? also how big do horseshoe crabs get???

I almost got one of these guys(strawberry crab) because I was told they were reef safe, however after further checking into them, I learned that they eat staghorn coral(not good if you have a staghorn crab So, I'm thinking that they may not be that reef safe. Just my thoughts though.

hmmmm i dont plan on gettin any staghorn so i dont think that will be a problem. did u find out how big they get?

i had a strawberry crab for awhile (pinkie) and he had a great personlity, we loved him
but when he molted he almost 3x his size and then he disappered and we never have found him again, when he went missing he was maybe one inch across and i never saw him bother anything in my tank
the horse shoe crab is going to get really large for a 30 and will dig up your sand if thats what you have, they like to hide in the bottom
hope this helps, i would love another pinkie crab, but right now my tank just doesnt seem to do well with emerals or strawberry crabs just my little hermits and my gaint holloween crab seem ok

I have seen strawberry's at pet stores around three inches in diameter (when they are outstretched) i believe they can get bigger than that but definetely not 12 inches, that's why i wanted to clarify
