Headed to get some Live Rock...HELP

hey guys I am headed in a little while to go get my first set of live rock..What are your suggestions on how to pick the right stuff out and how much should I start out with?? I have a 30 Inch long and 21 Inches Deep 50 gallon tank..

With a 50 gallon tank you can go 1-1 1/2 pound per gallon...so up to 50 lb I think would be cool.
Find pieces that you like. Look for pieces that added with other pieces can make some nice swim throughs or cave type areas.
Most important!!!!
Pick rock that YOU like!!!!:jumping: :jumping:

Look for rocks with good coralline coverage- pinks, purples, reds ect.......
If it looks icky dont but it unless you have a really good reason.

Make sure you make the salesperson take it out of the tank and let you smell it. Don't buy any live rock that smells like anything but the ocean. If it smells bad, then it is not cured and will make your tank recycle.
Also, look for live rock that isn't just round chunks. The big, round chunks don't allow you to get creative with placement, and they tend to have less of the beneficial surface area that some of the more oddly-shaped, pocked ones.

Just be careful with the reds. Make sure it isn't cyno. Almost brown looking.
