I understand it's "entitled" - IF GOVERNMENT says I can have it - I am taking it, even if it's more that I paid into it. Don't worry, my mother died at 56 and brother-in-law died at 48, you can have their unclaimed SSI.
Why do you not want others to take money from government welfare. They say you can have it, entilted to it. Why welfare reform then? I got mine, you can't have yours. I currently am a taxpayer...
I understand your line about being a taker - (some are givers)
"I will take every last dime I am entitled to from it."
I understand the evil government, they owe you.
I have capped SSI many times over the years and have had the 7.5 percent stop being withheld from my paychecks, during the same time being bumped into a higher tax bracket. Net result, I got to keep more of my money, even in a higher tax bracket. Must be the best kept secret...
My point, if I were to become disabled based on the SSI statement , in about 8 years, I would run out of money I put into it. I have withholdings since I was 16. Self-employed works out to about 12% since you get to deduct 1/2 on the frontside of fedtax return.
However, I don't have the strong convictions that the government shouldn't help the disadvantaged.
Maybe my convictions will changes, if I become disadvantaged. I may then be against the government helping other people and universal health care. But then again, that wouldn't make... sense, would it?
Do you understand the real concept of insurance? It is a company betting that more clients will not suffer a loss than will. Social Security is no different. When it was created the age at which you could collect it was higher than the average male life expectancy. Then they decided to add disability insurance into the mix. When Social Security was started they took something like 2.3% of your income. Now between Social Security and medicare/caid it is 15%. You only see 7.5 come off your check but your employer matches it.
I don't lose any sleep over taking the benefits I paid for. They jacked up the rates and included disability insurance in the benefits. Why in the world wouldn't I take them? All in all I'd rather be out fixing the stupid copiers, or most anything else but that isn't in the cards.

I know the MSM failed to cover this. However the Colorado head of the Democratic party has some bigtime answering to do. She hired to SEIU UNION to break the windows on the Headquarters on the Colorado Democratic Party then Tired to blame it on the Republicans. Trouble for her was the police drove by during the attack and arrested one of the Members of the SEIU and that person has already stated that the Head of the Colorado Democrats paid for the Attack.

I can't believe the Denver Post hasn't updated this yet.
As much as I detest standing up for the Democrats
#1 They didn't hire this person to smash windows
#2 The person they caught is a freak. "She" is a member of a transgender anarchist group called bash back denver. They have some seriously twisted agendas. Working for one candidate doesn't make She/he/it a democrat.
It is accurate that the head of the Colorado Democrats tried to parlay this into an excuse to bash Republicans but I have seen nothing saying this person was a member of the union or was paid to break the windows. And I live in the Denver area.

just because ordinary americans dont agree with Obama Bin Laden doesn't mean we have been organized by republicans to go against him, it might just mean your proposed legislation sucks %%
you know whats sick? its when FOX news bashed the war protesters for being un-american for protesting something they didn't believe in, but on the otherhand call healthcare reform protesters hero's because the agree with that agenda. every american has a right to peacefully protest any legislation they don not agree with. it doesnt matter if its a war, gay marriage, or health reform.
its true hypocrisy when a so called "news" agency can call one form of protest un-american and another true patriotism. its bad enough when individual's do it, let alone a major TV network. this country is built on protest and fighting for what you believe is right. its what allowed women to vote, gave blacks thier rights, and stopped Vietnam. its all of our rights wether you agree or not. lets just get it straight!

Where else would republican voters go. No republican politicians are holding town halls, are they? Plenty of whining to the media and appearing with commentators. They must be affraid.
Last I checked, Sen. McCain is a R ( at least a RINO).
He took some tough questions.

The folks protesting the war were lying about American Soldiers and Marines commiting atrocities-JFKerry: "Kicking in the doorsand terrorizing innocent women and children in the middle of the night". Jack Murtha:"Marines raping, torturing and murdering innocent civilians". That is unAmerican and unpatriotic. The fact that none of it was true seems to elicit a shrug of the shoulders from the left.

You should probably take the Fox news bashing to the left wing web sites where there aren't people who actually watch Fox and know what they actually said about war protesters.
Edit: And while I am at it how about NBC. They showed a clip of a guy at an Obama rally with a gun slung over his back. Their news babe comments "Well you have a Black President and white protesters with guns". Upon further viewing of the tape the person they were showing with the gun was black. There's some class journalism for you.

Don't forget the famous Murtha line " in cold blood".
