OK I'm not new to the hobby but I've never had this happen before!
I have a 75g reef up for about a year and two months I stuck my hand into my sump to do something and noticed the water was hot! that's when i found the heater shattered and bubbling in the corner.

My question is the main tank didn't get hot but could the old heater have leeched copper or something else into the water cause ever since my corals
have lost most of their color and they don't look good
If so is their anything i can do?

Pics of heater and coral below And thank you in advance

I would recomend a water change at the least. If you have a copper test kit do it. If you do NOT then ask LFS to do it for you(its a good idea to watch them do it) then write all the info down. I cant remember what the proper copper level is but the test kit should have the right concentration.
This happened to me once ....freshwater.

I'm moving your topic to the Reef Forum. I would agree to do a water change. Test for copper and keep an eye on things.

Do you have a GFCI or a ground probe? Necessary equipment.

the whole systems on GFCI but i don't have a ground probe yet
Will get one though that would have triggered the GFCI
