Heater location

I was wondering where everyone keeps there heaters? I am setting up a 140 and the heater I have will not fit in my sump. Does anyone keep the heater in the overflow? Or would a small heater in the sump keep the who tank warm? Thanks in advance.

I don't see why you couldn't put one in the overflow as long as there is plenty of room for circulation. You could also go with two or three smaller heaters. It's usually better to have more than one because should one fail, you still have the other one as a backup.

Thanks where would you put the three? All in the sump?

Yes, in the sump would be fine. I don't know how many you would need. I would just see how much room you have and then get however many you need to fit in the sump that will equal the wattage that you would need.
