Heater went out!

As I've mentioned before, my tank is kept at the science building that I teach in. I went in yesterday to feed the little buggers and my thermometer read 68 degrees!!!! My xenias looked TERRIBLE, though everyone else seemed ok. Naturally I ran out immediately to get a new heater. This morning the water temp was back to normal, but the xenias still looked really thin and sad. Do you think they'll come to again? If everyone else seems ok, should I trust that I got lucky and they were relatively unaffected by this whole ordeal??
Thanks for the help.

i'm not sure about the xenias, but am glad you caught your tank in time for everything else. is this the time that your power is being shut off?

I always use two heaters, so if one dies, the other, smaller, heater will slow the temperature loss from the tank until I notice the problem.

No...the power went out today. I had the temperature back up again before it went off, so the temp only went down to 74 degrees. My xenias still look a bit depressed, but everything else is never worse for wear.

Besides the multiple unit precaution, get an uninterruptable power supply. Maybe the school computer department had one.

I would think the xenias should come back. They ship those things, although they don't ship well, but they do get cold.
