Heaters in a sump

The only way I can fit the two heaters together in the sump submersed is on either side of, and touching, my acrylic skimmer. Is this going to be a problem? (2x 300w heaters in a 120g with a 33g sump)
edit: sorry, this is in the wrong forum, if someone wants to move it that would be good

One of mine touches my skimmer and no problem....gotta think, the clips that attach them to the glass are plastic. Well at least mine are
