heating

I am having trouble keeping my temp up to where it needs to be. I have a heater that is rated for a 60g tank and mine is a 55g. I live in Idaho so it is getting pretty darn cold at night. Does anyone have any ideas what I should do? I was thinking about putting two heaters in.

IMO, Having two is probably a good idea. That way, if one of them is stuck OFF, your fish won't totally freeze. And if one of them gets stuck ON, your fish won't cook. :)

I have a 55gal with 2 heaters I got them mostly just in case one of them fails but find that the temp is always bang on.
If you want to talk cold I live in Canada.

I have 300w i would think that it is enough? I think that i will go get a new heater to day.
I am sorry Canada is a little colder than Idaho.

Wow a 300 watt should keep a 55 at the correct temp if it is working properly. I have a single 150 watt and even when my room gets down into the 60's it keeps the temp where it should be with an open top.
