thank you all. man i picked the wronge pet store to buy thigns from. geesh. so basicly im getting from all this dont use gravel, use sand. no under gravel filter, get an canister. I have a protien skimmer.
So you think my rock is savagable?

yeah ur rock should be fine once u get the algae under control.... sometimes the algae can smother out some of the smaller invertebrate life on the rocks .... its a toss up but i would just take care of one thing at a time then see what the rock looks like when ur done

You may want to take it out and scrub and rinse it in fresh saltwater to be safe. You should be able to use it again.
