Hello...confused here

hello all, ive been reading and reading a bunch in this forum and finally signed up..
This is my first saltwater tank and im just starting...
my water parameters are confusing me from what i was expecting to see....
its a 29 gal tall tank 24"L 12"D 24"H
I have 40 lb live sand
45 lbs of live fiji
about 5 lbs of live tonga branch
I have a seaclone 100 (yes i read they suck)
a tetratech pf300 (which is a power filter)
orbitz lighting 65x2 ( with the actinic light and compact fluro)
I added the water, sand and the branch on 12/28/04
on the next day i added the fiji rock...(thinking this should be more than enough to start cycling)...
water parameters on
12/29 ph 7.9 no3 20 no2 .5 nh3/nh4 .35
after water change
12/31 ph 7.9 no3 40 no2.15 nh3/nh4 .25
sg=1.021
i know my ph is low, but the should the no's even exist at this point? did the lr cause this...suggestion..

It could just be your test kits...what kind are you using?
What kind of water are you using?
If anything...just give it time and see what it is like after a week.

wow that was very fast the test kit im using is "saltwater master liquid test kit" made by aquarium pharmaceuticals
its saltwater from the lfs

Yep I agree, don't do any water changes for awhile.
What part of So Cal are you from?
