Hello there.

I'm a new hobbyist, about 4 months into it & was referred to this MB by an employee at my favorite LFS, Hi Tide.
I must say I'm really impressed with the activity & moreever, the breadth & depth of the posts here. What an awesome resource to come upon.
We suffered an ice storm a few weeks ago here in the charlotte area & I , like many other local aquariasts, lost most if not all of their critters. I'm slowly restocking my puny tank & already have gotten lots of great ideas from what I've read here.
Fortunately I have a very good friend who is deeeep in the hobby, who aside from introducing me to saltwater, has donated practically everything it took to get me up & running with a healthy tank.
I look forward to following this MB.

15 gallons with that lighting!, thats 15 watts per gallon, if the corals start to burn or something wrong happens, sell it to me!;) , looks like a good setup, got any pics?

I have some old pics with 2 standard output flourescents (10k & actinic) & different fish. Lemme grow the stuff 2 more weeks & I'll post before & after the ICE STORM '02 (tm) pics.
/mourn the loss of my sailfin tang & 6line wrasse :(
I thought the 250w would be overkill too, but with a home-made canopy & bulb 10" above the water with no glass below it, the temperature is rock steady 79.5 F. I really think that the flourescents were just as hot, if not hotter than the MH, sitting right on top of the old glass canopy as they were.
My buddy with the 400w hqi/radiums sure cooks some water though on his 75.
regards

nice, I would look foward to see them. I dont want to sound mean but the sailfin would outgrow that tank in no time, did you have another home for it?
