Well it seems I came off way too harsh..I apologize, I really thought a troll was among us. The only thing I can guess is that instead of splashing bleach and dumping it right away, then rinsing…you soaked the bottle with bleach in it, and then the bleach contaminated water in the jug was used as top off.
So my best advice: In the future stop bleaching clean bottles. Of you leave the top off you won’t have any mold or anything grow in there. Besides you top off so often nothing gets a chance to grow in there anyway.
The prime used 5Xs more than normal is still safe according to the instructions I Googled on it. So you did okay. Don’t add any fish for a few weeks to make sure everything is back as it should be. If critters have stopped dying you should be good to let it be. Too much of water changes are not good either. Like BTL said…do a little WC each day instead.
