HELP---anorexic Sleeper Banded Bullet

HELP----I purchased a SBB from the LFS about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately I was in such a hurry to get a sand sifter I did not take the time to really get a good look at him. After bringing him home I realized he was VERY skinny and appeared that his tail was slightly nipped at by his housemates at the LFS. I was hoping it would be OK b/c I have PLENTY of stuff for him to munch on in the sand. My last SBB was a work horse and a pig--he would fight w/ my trigger for food. This one rarely comes out. Yesterday I tried sinking pellets and Zooplex--anything to get him going!! He is still skinny as ever and I only see him sift in the evening when I turn off the 10000Ks--and even then it is a 1/2 hearted attempt.
Is there anything I can do for this little guy????? I really want to help him and fix what the LFS did to him---had him in a tank w/ a bunch of Domino Damsels w/ no live sand---my own stuipdity for buying him. I am just hoping I can bring him back and give him a happy wet home. All my perameters are good Nitrite, Nitrate, Ammonia all 0 ppm, Ph at about 8-8.2, SpGr 1.023. Do I just give him more time or any food someone can suggest?? Also, unfortunately, I do not have a QT so I can't move him--plus I think if I tried the stress may put him over the edge. Thank you for ANY help and/or suggestions!!!!! :help: :help:

I am fairly new to all this as well, but since no one is responding to you thought I give me two cents..... I have a sleeper banded goby as well and thank goodness he eats what ever I put in the tank. The problem is my guy has some aggressive tank mates and you have to be fast to get your fair share of food. My goby feeds on the LR and sifts in the sand all day. It appears that they cannot see very well, which makes it even more difficult to eat food added to the tank IMO. Recently had a problem with new Maroon not eating for a week and someone suggested live brine shrimp. That did the trick, she has not missed a meal since. Be careful with over feeding though, in trying to get this guy to eat, it can get your nitrite and nitrates out of wack. Go to Disease forum and look at beths pictures. There is a banded goobie there that is starving to death and it is not a pretty site!

Good luck, hopefully your guy will get the proper care he needs now and be a :happyfish ...... :D

I have seen the lawnmower blenny on that site that is starving---my LM blenny is def. not starving. He is fat and healthy--just can't get the SBBGoby to eat----I can put shrimp pellets right in front of him and he has no interest. Just wish someone would tell me what to try!!! If I need to get live brine someone please let me know--I think that is about the only thing I have not tried!!

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP :scared:

I have tried blood worms, mysis shrimp, brine (frozen), daphnia, zooplank., shrimp sinking pellets, krill.
I have a dwarf lemon peel, bicolor blenny and a lawnmower--also cleaning crew. the lemon and bi-color are pigs!! However, when I got the sinking pellets I put them as close to him as I could and he showed no interest.
:needhelp:
Any input? Thanks

Well---found SBB this am---thought he was still hanging in there---then I saw him on his side in the back of the tank
Than actually thought maybe he was alive b/s I saw him moving--no luck it is the hermits feeding on him
. Hoping I am wrong about that b/c he is in a dark spot so it is really hard to tell.
Guess I'll be taking another trip to the LFS today---and get a GOOD look at what I am purchasing. just weird that the one I purchased on-line was a work horse pig and the one I got for a reputable LFS was in such poor health.

Well need to trade in my dwarf angel anyway.
RIP my lil wet friend.

quite ironic that my banded goby also died this morning. although last week, he was eating very well, i noticed he had some weight loss. this morning, he was on his side, the breathing was very very labored, and the current was moving him around. i had to give him a mercy flush.
first fish loss in 8 months. i really cant complain
