I have been running my 2011 skimmer on the outside of my tank for hours and no foam at all. The water inside the skimmer is under the water level mark and i am getting lots of bubbles but no foam. Its running with a 1600lph powerhead. Why arent i getting foam, please help????

Skimmers usually require a break in period. A slime coat needs to form on the inside walls of the reaction chamber before they start working. Hopefully this is all that's wrong with yours.
In the case of a hang on skimmer; if you are not using a sump and the water level in your display keeps fluctuating through evaporation and top offs the skimmer may have a hard time working properly in general.

The water level mark on the skimmer chamber is that referring to the water level of the tank or the water inside the skimmer???? They seems to be a big gap from the level marked on the skimmer to the collection cup.

I am not exactly sure what you mean.
Do you have a sump?
If not it would not be terribly expensive to set one up and then the water level in your display tank would stay constant and the hang on skimmer would work much more efficiently.

what do you mean a sump??? I got what comes with the weipro skimmer and a powerhead to run it. There is a sticker on the outside of the skimmer that says KEEP WATER LEVEL HERE and a arrow pointing down to a mark.

Thats the water level that you keep the skimmer at (least as far as they're concerned)
You adjust the level by using the gate valve, you want the skim to go into the cup.
My advice is that you can go higher but you must find the right height for your needs, do you want dry skim, wet skim, how much gunk is it pulling etc..?

i have just got it and its been running during the day for a couple of days. I have plenty of bubbles in the chamber but no foam, so i am getting no gunk. The water level mark on the skimmer is about 6.5" below the top of the chamber where is over flows into the cup.

It needs to break in before you'll get a lot of gunk, give it time.
