I came home from work today and found one of my snails at the back of the tank in an unusual position . . . kind of on his side. I put him on top of a piece of LR to watch him. He has since fallen off the rock and is laying upside down. I thought if he died he would sort of shrivel up into his shell.
Is there anything I can do?
Should I get him out of the tank immediately?
Thanks,
Mike

I know, but it still stinks. He is my first lost pet and I had them all named.

Is there any way to sort of dry him out and at least save the shell for my hermits to grow into?

Sorry to hear about your snail. I came home the other day and one of mine committed suicide from the top. Once most snails fall over they can't right themselves. I just left mine in and my hermits got a belly full.

I did a water test tonight and things look fine. I've got 2 more turbo snails that are scootin' along like normal. Maybe one of my hermits gave him a good pinch.
Thanks for the help! I guess I'll just leave him in there as hermit food, then they can move into his shell once they're bigger.
I expected to lose a few of the cleaners, but it still stinks!

I'm off to El Paso to watch the Boilermakers beat up on ASU, so no more postings until 2005. Happy New Year everyone!!
