I bought a serpent star from this site and when I received him he was very energetic. Once I acclimated him and put him in the tank he just laid there and finally moved to a rock overhand and didn't move for 2 days. He started moving a little and ate some food. Now he owns half the tank. This website said that they may not move for awhile and to just check for disintegration. I followed the acclimation to the T and everything worked out in the end.

How long did you acclimate him? What are your exact water parameters? Did you drip acclimate?

I drip acclimated him for 4 hours. I don't remember the exact water parms but I do remember the salinity of the water it came in was about 1.022 and I had to slowly bring it up to the 1.025 that my tank is at. Starfish don't like fast salinity changes much so I made sure that I slowly brought it up to my tanks parm. In the end the bucket of water has more then quadrupled. It also helped to bring the temperature in line very slowly. Since these were inverts they when right into the tank since there was nothing in it. The starfish was acclimated separately from the snails and crabs. When I get fish they get a QT for about 3 weeks.

NO healthy brittlestar will be upside down and not be able to turn itself over almost instantly. That is a very bad sign, IMO, especially if it is also out in the open.
Specific water parameters and tank age, setup, etc are important to know, ASAP!! Acclimation time is also important to know.
