Help!!! Asap!

Does anyone have the Via Aqua Muti Skimmer Protien Skimmer??? I just bought it and I can't figure it out. It is making alot of noise and isn't making any foam. If you have any help please respond. It is very very annoying and loud and I am at the end of my patience from trying to figure it out!!! Please Help!

I dont have that skimmer, but protien skimmers usually take a couple days to adjust themselves... and generally get quiter once they are adjusted.

OK but it is not making any foam and it has this rod thing that you are supposed to either pull higher or lower and Ive moved it all around and still no foam

It may take a while to start making foam. On the instructions it should tell you the optimum position to set it at. Put it there and leave it for a day or two. Mine took two days to start foaming up. It spat out alot of bubbles at first then started to clear up. Be patient.

I don't have the same skimmer as you either, but this is exactly what mine did. Just give it some time.

It takes time for the foam... Thats part of the break in period.
It will also stop foaming for about an hour when you stick your hand in the water, and when you feed your fish.
Just give it 3-4 days of constant running... If still no foam then id be worried.

When making any skimmer the plastic has varios oils on it when it is made. It takes a couple of days for it to wearoff and then it should be working fine.

wow thanks i feel so dumb since i didnt know i had to break it in. haha sorry for the stupidity but also, there is this rod with a little hand pump and the instructions say to pull it up or down to increase or decrease foam but i still havent figured it out. :notsure: i guess ill just use my patience and see if it starts working. Does anyone have suggestions for colorful, peaceful, reefsafe fish? I need opinions. I have a false perc and 2 green chromises and Im looking for more. I am 99% sure that a purple firefish is in the near future and maybe an anthias does anyone have any other suggestions? :help: :help:

ok will do but good news!! the skimmer is finally putting out foam.

but it is still making alot of noise. will this die down too, or should I try and fix it?
