well i woke up about 10mins ago and there it was dead on the filter how can i tell if it let its poison in the tank does it take affect rite away or does it take a while??????????????
I just love those guys. sorry for your loss. If he stressed out at all, he may have already done this. I am not sure about the nature of these toxins upon death.
A water change would be in order and a wait and see. Hopefully someone with more experience with these guys can guide you.
How is your other live stock doing? Are they breathing heavy or acting strange?
I would definitely do a 25% water change and put in a few fresh bags of activated carbon.
Both my frined I owned Box Fish, they both died. SUCKS I feel your pain. My friend took his out of the tank and had no problems. No deaths.
Well when mine died I couldn't find the body, there one day gone the next????? Totally blew me away. Everyone thought he did the famous "Carpet Surf" but I looked and nothing.
But nothing died in my tank either. So either we (we got them from the same store at different times) got really lucky or they just didn't release the toxin.
Well, if you have a fish with ich, an eel that breates heavy, and a boxfish that is dead, you have a problem elsewhere and I would test all of your levels to see what is the problem.
