Does anybody know the way to catch a trigger in my 65G without actually removing all the rock? I have stuff on the rocks and dont want it to be damaged.
Thank you

Its gonna be tricky. Try a small cast net to block off a section of the tank, or a way to "corral the horses" as I would put it.

Sometimes I feed my fish directly out of the net so the more aggressives like my puffer and eel will swim right into the net to get at the food. Makes catching a breeze. A huma is an aggressive enough eater I'd think you could trick him into a net in the same fashion.

I heard there are some transparent nets, kind of like a plastic box, so fish cant see it and you can easily get it inside.
But I mean he would see my hands there any way.....

I have Niger Trigger that I am catching, and you are right, they are so fast and afraid of everything :(

I have a friend who actually uses a small barbless hook attached to fishing line to catch fish out of his 90, he has hook over a dozen fish, and none have died

i have actually used the hook method to get out two ugly and aggresive damsels, they didn't die until I flushed them down the toilet

What kind of hook? Just a regular fishing hook?

Or may be ask my husband, he loves fishing

Here's a copy of what I post for damsel removal; works great on triggers too!
This may have been me, I always suggest this; but most people think its
silly...until they try it. Tiny hook (hair hook, used to catch bait. Flatten the
barb and bait with a bit of raw shrimp..after the little monster has been eating
it for a day or two. A lfs called me several times, when I I lived in another
state, to help them get unwanted fish out of customer's tanks (almost always
damsels). I never failed, nor hurt a fish (much). I think this one of the most
common questions on this forum. I suspect it is often the result of lfs selling
damsels as "cycle starters".. I'll bet I've posted this reply 20 times; I'm
going to copy & save it...I type very slowly. BTW, I never heard from anyone
that tried this and failed, but have heard several success stories. IMO, it is
no big deal on the fish, far less stressful ,(on the damsel AND tankmates),than
tearing a tank apart.

I tried and failed! The stupid Sgt Major wouldnt eat the shrimp off the hook. But then again when I was a kid I could never get them to get hooked.

thank you so much. I will definetely try this. So, I need to feed them raw shrimp for couple days before that? It might work.
Should I remove the damsels as well while I am doing that?

I used a bottle trap to get a wrasse out of one of my tanks. I chose a clear plastic bottle, cut the top off and inverted it into the body of the bottle. I then put some shrimp in the bottle and left it over night. The next morning the wrasse was in the bottle and ready to transport to my office tank!

Do I understand it correctly, that if I have trigger, 3 damsels, blue tang, yellow tang and pair of clowns, only trigger and damsels would be interested in raw shrimp?
I feel kind of dumb

No, they'll all like it, in fact, its a great food for most SW fish. (But not the only thing to feed) Just keep the baited hook away from the fish you don't want to catch.
