Help coral problem!!!

I'm fairly new to the hobby and I have a stubby leather finger coral in my tank and today I noticed its got some weird tan/white looking stuff on the sides going around the back side of it and I'm not sure if its dying or shedding. I need help to figure something out on this

Probably shedding...make sure you have a moderate amount of flow on it to help with the process

Thank you so much for your advice. i need as many opinions as i can get on this I've had a few other corals shed just havent seen anything like this
