I have a 150 over my 30 cube and it is enough light. Does sound like that could be overkill. Suprised the corals haven't all expelled their algae and moved on to the big reef in the sky.

As long as the temperature is fine then there's no problem with having a 150 watt halide over a 6 gallon tank. It's about the distance, not the size of the tank. I have corals 3" deep under halides in a 30 gallon. It's exactly the same as corals 3" deep in a 6 gallon.
As Guy asked, what corals are you trying to grow?

yes i can put up the heater i have in the tank...i was just wondering why i have not seen growth in the corals...when i had my 29 g tank setup the mushrooms did very well...i do not feed the frogspawn anything... i do not have an alkalinity test kit...the water flow is good i upgraded it to a maxi jet 900

I agree but mars is further from the sun and is alway below 0 degrees Celsius. Maybe Venus or Mercury though.
