Help!! Dead Fish

Can someone please help me understand why two of my fish died? I have a 55 gal tank. I had two perculas, 1 flame angel and 1 cuban hogfish. The flame angel and perculas are about three months in the tank. I got the hogfish two weeks ago. During the past two days the hogfish started acting strange and hiding in the rocks. The flame angel and perculas acted fine, no problems. They were all eating fine. This morning I woke up and the flame angel and hogfish were on the bottom of the tank dead. The water is as follows.
Nitrates 0
Nitrites 0
ph 7.4
sg 1.21
ammonia 0
alk normal
All checks out fine. Could it be that the hogfish came in sick and infected the angel? I got the hogfish from this site. That is the only thing I can think of. No signs of ick. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your ph is low you need to slowly raise it to 8.2, small water changes over the next couple of days would help bring it up.

Do you think that';s what killed the fish? I am looking now and it looks like I am about to lose one of the perc's also. He is just staying in one place on the bottom of the tank. I expect him to be dead by morning.

I hope your specific gravity is 1.021 and not 1.21 as you typed it...
Your pH for saltwater should be between 8.1 and 8.4. Where did you get the idea that 7.4 was ok?

Since my ph is so low should I add baking soda? If so, how much? Any help would be appreciated. What is an ideal sg? I am at 1.021 is that too low? Did the low ph kill the fish? I really need to know before I add any more fish. I don't want to kill any fish. Thank you

dont rush to add fish. take your time fixing the problem, i agree with buying a book and study hard. i would def NOT put any more fish in though until the problems are resolved.
