ok i just got my first anemone and i put it in my tank and turn on the powerheads and he just folts around and hits the sides what do i do???
COVER the power heads right NOW! Then come back and read the rest...
Anemones float around until they find a happy place to attach to. They also swell up nice and full and then dump the water out of themselves (they look dead) you must cover your power heads or they get sucked up and it can kill them. If it happens turn off the power head and let it detach by itself.
You can' leave the power head off until it attaches because the water current helps it determine where it wants to stay. Turning the PH on afterwards will cause it to go hunting again for a better spot.
still when i turned on my powerheads thi morning the same thing happend it moves around and gets pushed againg the glass and stucked up in it what am i doing wrong??
it sounds like the powerhead it faced towards the anemone? face it upwards to the water surface until the anemone finds a good place then fix it...also for now make sure it is covered this also slows down the flow a little, something like a media bag around it or some filter pad material....
