look I got this at the lfs for $30 because it was so cool looking but now I don't even know what it is neither does the lfs guy that sold me this coral. This is very rare according to him. please help me out
Looks like a Sea Squirt / Tunicate. That's about the right price range. I wouldn't consider it "rare," but they don't really come into the lfs a lot. It's more of an invertebrate, not a coral.
its a purple line tunicate(polycarpa aurata) and they are not rare now if they were the royal blue or the blue palm then it would be..and they are somewhat hard to care for.
You've experienced something that spawns a very relevant lesson to the hobby: Do not listen to the people working at the LFS if you don't know them personally. They will make you dumb, and you will lose your money.
