i have a kole tang in a 55 gal tank with inverts, powder brown tang, and a flame angelfish. That has been fine since yesterday then found ich i think, what meds would u say work best with the inverts and should i take out my live rock along with shrimp, and starfish. I did give them a 7 munite fresh water did when i noticed it. Also the kole tang upper lip has a brown patch like she burnt it on the heater or something. Does anybody know what it could be and it is not on any other fishes? my tank conditions are good.

You can't put meds in a tank with inverts or with LR, nor can you use hyposalinity.
Do you have a separate tank for your fish?? If so, I would setup a hospital tank just for the fish. Let us know if you have a separate tank and how big it is.
Though only one of your fish has visible signs of ick, all of them have been exposed, thus they can all come down with the disease.
In the meantime, soak your fish food in garlic and feed them all this food.
You may want to read recent threads on this particular forum pertaining to hyposalinity, the use of copper, and fresh water dips in the treatment of ick.

The problem is there are no PROVEN reef safe meds, lots of snake oils out there. Hyposalinity is very effective but as mentioned is not invert safe. So to be sure you get an effective cure either move your inverts and some rock or move your fish and leave the tank with out a host for at least 30 days.
