I have seen these in the sand but they are always anchored to something. We have these around here in the water (TX).

i dont know, thats weird. they usually like to bury their foot in deep sand, to make sure theyre safe.. they really like deep sand enough to bury the foot
make sure you have a protein skimmer running if you keep it though, if its an lta, ive seen pictures where they release eggs that could crash your tank

I collected it myself free from gods blue sea.
I know of a spot very near my house where a coloney of these live. I got a hammer and a chisel and broke off the little piece of concrete he lived on and put him in my tank. He moved onto the osyster shell for more stable footing. I see a lot of them in the sand and trust me they are deep!! Forgive me but what does LTA stand for? They come in several different colors, from pale tan to orange to blueish purple like mine! I do run a protien skimmer all the time. He likes to eat shrimp and fish I just put them on a feed stick and touch them on him and he grabs them! Does anyone think that a clown or anomne crab would be in danger?

That is a very cool looking LTA - and NO your clown shouldn't be in danger - hopefully the clown will take to hosting the anenome. Good luck.

There are no M.doreensis ( AKA long tenticle anemone, aka LTA) in the gulf/Caribbean. Its condilactus. Since there are no clowns in th ecarribean, the clowns could very well be in danger. Not as much with this species (condalactus) of carribean anemone, as with others such as S.helenthus (Atlantic carpet)
