Hello all its been a while since i have had to come and ask for some help. I have had my tank up and running now for 11 months and boy have they been an incredible 11 months. I have noticed that my tank has gained an algae looking addition. The algae looks like a black hair like algae. It is mainly on the rock work but also on some of the sand. Here are some pictures (though not great ones) of my little addition. Any help would be awesome. Thank you.
A little background of the tank:
75 gallon
4 Power Heads
30 gallon sump with protein skimmer
T5 lighting that is on for about 5 hours a day

What are your water parameters? Can you post some wider angle photos? The ones you've posted are a little blurry and it's hard to make out what's what. It could be red slime, dinoflagellates, or something else.

OK so i just got done with my tests and here they are.
Ammonia - .25
Nitrite - .5
Nitrate - 50
Phosphate - .03
Temp is 80.5
I can see that my tank needs some water to be changed so that i can get my by products down. And i do not have a better picture because the site only allows 500x500 and those are max size.
These tests may be affected by the lack of a clean up crew at the moment. My crew has perished unfortunately and before i got a new one i wanted to make sure all was well.

What brand of test kits are you using? An 11-month-old tank should not have any ammonia or nitrite. Did something recently die in your tank? What sorts of animals do you have? Do you have a full tank photo?

Yeah i just had a fish die in the tank. I had a tough time locating the fish which is probably why the ammonia and trites and trates are high. I am at the moments preparing to do a 15 gallon water change tomorrow night.
