:help: These just showed up on my 55 gl reef tank, they are on the front glass so it is diffacult to get a good picture.
The bottom looks like a slug and the top sort of looks like spme sort of polyp.
Any ideas, and are they good or bad? They seem to be stationary at least they have not moved in the last 6 hours.

Sounds like maybe aptasia, maybe someone with a little more experience will chime in. Or maybe you know it isn't that.:D

search for it here, I found lots of pictures. Aptasia is a fast growong pest, and my LFS has ton of it. Before I knew I asked how much for one of those, she said humm 4.00. :notsure: what a joke, like a florist selling ya a pot of dandiloins for 4.00. if this is what you have don't scrap or pull it each piece will grow new ones, in the search it tells how to use a syringe and lemon juice to kill it. Hope this helps

kip or bang also had a post about using kalkwasser to get rid of them, by using a syringe and kalk/mixed with water and squirt it on them. they said it melts them away.

that works but the peppermint shrimp work just as well, and you can get them really cheap, some people even use hot water, we did it and it worked on one, but did it toanother and it didnt, so i dont know, gl with it, they are a pain.

I've never heard of aptasia on the glass before. But since the glass is a nice smoth surface, cant you just use a razor and scrape them off into a net or something without leaving any residue behind?
