Hello all,
We have just upgraded from a 45 G to 110 G. When we were transfering the LR to the new tank we noticed a Grape like item attached to it. It is less than an inch. We are guessing it is some type of egg case. Any ideas? We do not know of any breeders in this setup
Thanks for any help.

I have read if you buy some Emerald Mithrax Crabs they will help in controling the bubble algae.

If you just have one or even a few, remove them without popping them. I have an emerald because I have a serious problem, but he won't touch them. I think it's hit or miss with them...and I missed!!:hilarious

take the purpetrating rock out of the tank and remove the bubble. whatever you do dont pop it inside the tank or you'll be swimming in them!

I had about a million of them and my emeralds either could not keep up or did not like them. When I added my base rock I took all the live rock out of the tank and scraped it eith a knife, then dipped them in clean salt water. I will be getting more emeralds soon and I hope one of them like the stuff.

Okay, this might be far-fetched, but when I bought mine, I had lots of bubble algae, some even huge and covered in coraline. As I was acclimating my emerald I put a couple little bubbles in the bowl with him, and after about an hour, they were both gone. I put him in, and he started pigging out right away. Even though I popped many in the tank, no more seemed to grow back, but maybe the EC was ahead of his game.. Anyway, just a thought...

InigoMontoya!
I just remembered why that name sounds so familiar! I have that movie at home, forced my little sisters to watch it when they spent the weekends with me until they love the movie too now

NOW I know. Well crap if I didn't just push on one of thoes yesterday

Interesting looking stuff. I need to know what if emerald crabs will fight with others or if they are relatively peaceable b4 I run go get one.
If so,
I will try that "acclimating hor-de-vore" method:yes:

I actually like the look when they get really big so i leave them and then when they get to the size of a really big grape and covered in corraline I attach a knife to the end of my water change hose and pop and suck them out of the tank during a water change.
