People often refer to a cup and I don't know how big a cup is. According to the instruction, I need to mix 8 cups with 1 gal of water. Anyone knows how many cups equal to 1lb? I just bought 1lb of epsom salt, how much water do I need to mix?

Cup = 8 ounces.
1 tablespoon = .5 ounce
so 16 level tablespoons per cup.
These are not exact but should get you within spec for rough measurements. Clean enough to get the job done safely with consistancy.

ReefForBrain,
Did you refer to the liquid? How about dry? I googled a measuring cup, it's huge and I don't think 16 dry level tabespoons equal to 1 measuring cup.

A cup is only 8 ounces, as alix says, is if it's liquid.
A cup of baby powder will weigh much less and a cup of fishing sinkers (or lead) will weigh quite a bit.
Just go to your neighbors house and ask to borrow a measuring cup.

Do you have a measuring tablespoon? 16 of those is a cup.

You didn't answer my question. Read my question and think before reply. I asked how many cups of epsom salt are equal to 1lb of epsom salt? Let me give you a hint. Epsom salt is not a liquid.

Tizzo, are you refering to the liquid? I found the conversion but I don't know I'm correct or not. Here it is
1 cup = 64 dram
1lb = 256 dram
Therefore, 1 lb will equal to 4 cups
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually, I was referring to everybody saying that a cup is 8 ounces.
If your conversion is in direct correlation to epsom salt then, yes it'd be correct.
I cannot find any types of conversion charts for this myself.
