HELP! Linkia Star

Can anyone tell me if there is a problem with my
star fish? It seems like the "STUFFING" is starting to
come out of him!

is the stuff thats coming out of him white,i had the same thing happen to mine and i have no idea y,he died.

ooh that sucks. i had one shipped and when he arrived he was kinda bunched up after acclimating him i put him in and soon there after one of his arms i noticed was broke . over the next couple of weeks it split and the white stuff came out and he lost 2 arms not one a couple of weeks after that he died. i also read on here without a well established tank with alot of live rock they wont make it anyhow. im no expert be any means, but find the post i am talking about its in this section its about a orange linkia dying might help out to read that one good luck and sorry bout the starfish

Your starfish is a goner. He is probably dying from osmotic shock. They are extremely sensitive to changes in water, especially salinity levels. They essentially explode at a cellular level. At some point it probably wasn't acclimated properly. They should be acclimated for a minumum of 4 hours, and I've always done mine over 12 hours. The difficult part is that they can sometimes live for months afterwards so it could be the fault of the LFS or any that had it before you.

thanks ....Not good news
the stuff is grayish meat lookin stuff
I have removed him and put him in a hospital tank
I do not want the thing dissolving in my main tank.
this was the second one ordered(my first)the
other one was a friend of mine.
my friends star is doing great!! and i acc. both?go figure!
his star is in a tank with 1.5 phosphates too!!!!!!!!!

Sorry you are having a hard time. I have been fortunate to have only lost one star that way over the years, that was a blue linckia. Brittle starfish are much hardier and will probably be fine, so that's an optimistic point.
