Help me find my xenia's "happy" spot...

I can't seem to find the right spot in the tank to make these guys happy. If I put it in low flow half are open, half are closed. Put it in higher flow - same thing. Same thing for lighting too - half opened/half closed depending on more or less light. I seem to find conflicting information on how much flow and light it takes to make these guys happy. To those of you who have content xenia, where in the tank do you have them located and what type of flow are they getting?

It took a couple days for mine to get comfy. I have had mine in the lowest part of the tank with mild current and i did not see much of a change but as soon as I moved them to the middle of the tank they took off!! Right now they are in high mild current and seem to be happy

It would be best to just leave it alone... No coral will respond well to being moved around all the time... give it time to settle in..

eh, somewhat low flow, doesn't require a lot of light, and does require some nutrient in the tank. Xenia also does better with a little colder water, and a new tank, not mature.
"finding my corals happy spot." lol lol lol

Hi,
Xenia are tuff guys, they can adapt to anywhere in the tank where there is light. Just leave them alone. If the current is so strong they get bent over they will streighten up in a few days.
Some closed, some open usuualy means they are feeding. They do like cooler waters but adapt to warm water without ill effects.
Hope this helps. I had Xenia die to nothing but a little snot spot and they grew back as soon as the light hit them.

We have some xenia that hitchhiked in on our LR. It's slowly been shrinking due to our stinkin' hermit crabs wallowing in it.
However, before we added our hermits the xenia did really well with medium flow and they're at about mid-level in the tank as far as lighting goes... so medium light...
