Help me identify growth on rock.

I have these three things that have been Slllooooowwwwwlllyyy growing on my rock. They started out as just very little nubs when I first got the rock (about 2 months ago) and now have gron to about 1" in diameter. Anyone have any ideas what they are. The are soft and velvety and are redish/maroon in color.
In all the pictures, I have placed the area of intrest in the uper right corners of the picture (kind of like picture-in-picture.

I think they are bigger forms of foraminiferans, as seen here, but you hafta scroll down to almost the bottum.

These come in many colors, and some branch out.

I don't think these are it. They don't have hard shells like the site says. They are soft and fuzzy.
