We got a Seaclone 100 skimmer the other day and we get nothing but bubbles, even with the air valve completely closed. The only way we can get foam anywhere near the collection cup (near being 3 inches below the overflow into the collection cup) is by having the air valve completely open. Help me out or i'm trashing the seaclone.
Specs:
55 gal
4 months old
30 lbs liverock
20 lbs live sand
5 turbo snails
little bit of a brown algae problem

I hated mine at first and was very sorry i had gotten it but after i played with it for awhile it is working fine now. shut the valve all the way then slowly open it until the tube is a mass of bubbles. just do it slowly if you go to far it will stop bubbling you want it bubbling and water slowly going back into tank i empty my collection cup every few days full of slimy gunk. from shut position on mine it is only about one turn for it to be set right

Open your airvalve all the way up for a few days and then slowly close it until just before it spits bubbles int the tank. My Seaclone 150 works great on my 125 gallon reef.

If the skimmer has only been on the tank for a few days, give it a little time. You will have to play with the adjustments a bit, but the skimmer won't pull that much right off the bat.
