Help me! or i will become a seaclone hater!

We got a Seaclone 100 skimmer the other day and we get nothing but bubbles, even with the air valve completely closed. The only way we can get foam anywhere near the collection cup (near being 3 inches below the overflow into the collection cup) is by having the air valve completely open. Help me out or i'm trashing the seaclone.

Specs:
55 gal
4 months old
30 lbs liverock
20 lbs live sand
5 turbo snails
little bit of a brown algae problem

The only good use i've found for a Seaclone is, with a few modifications, it'll make a good bong.:thinking:
