i have a Kent Nautilus Ex24 skimmer, right now i have a cap1800 (600gph) pump running it...its doing ok, but i want to upgrade... these are the pumps Kent reccomends...i'm thinking the aqua 3600 from the Dr's site.
hope i dont get in trouble for posting this.
heres my research so far:
mag 12 = 110wtts - 1200gph
- ch@mpion lighting = 101.21 (after shipping)
- m@rine dep0t = 111.94 (after shipping)
- eb@y = 109.90 (after shipping)
via aqua 3600 = 80wtts - 1057 GPH
- eb@y = 69.90 (after shipping)
- m@rine dep0t = 58.48 (after shipping)
- dr f0sters = 51.98 (after shipping)

quiet one 4000 = 50wtts - 1017 GPH
- dr f0sters = 64.95 (after shipping)
- eb@y = 67.98 (after shipping)
- m@rine dep0t = $96.58 (after shipping)
what do you guys think?

I have the same one..
How far away from the pump is the skimmer...I have found your want to have 900-1000gph at the skimmer...so if you have it a few feet away from the skimmer you must take that into consideration.
Also take into account for the 90 deg angles in any of the piping..I have found them to be very particular about the flow...
You can also call Kent Marine..they have awsome tech support...
Tell them the distance of the pump from skimmer, how many 90deg angles if any, and let them recommend one for you...That way if it doesn't work, you can yell at them :)

right now i have the pumps outlet ran directly into the skimmers input line...i used a 3" pc of tubing between the two...so i hope i can do the same thing with the new pump...so there shouldn't be and head loss..
