Hey guys I'm finally ready to pick out more corals than polyps and mushrooms and I need your help. I have 240 watts in a 38 gallon (I think that works out to be 6.3 WPG of PC lighting). I have a good skimmer, effecent filtration, enough flow, enough LR & LS, and only keeping totally reef safe things in my tank. I know I can't keep SPS but can I keep LPS? If so what kind ouf LPS would work with 6.3 WPG? Can I keep an anemone? If so what kind? And I know I can pretty much keep all the softies so what would you reccomend for soft corals? Looking for colorful, big, and hardy corals. Thanks-Greg

You may like a candycane coral, frogspawn, hammer, brain, pretty much any lps. You may be ok with a bta or rbta. In softies I like rics, and zoos about it.

try toadstool leather. some clowns take hosts to them.(not like an anemone)i absolutely would NOT reccomend an anemone.they are for expirenced hobbyists(not saying you arent) with years of expirence and they nedd IMO lots of VHO or MH and pristine water.
good luck

yeah you should be fine with those. i guess i better retract my suggestion on the anemone. you really should not try one for quite sometime.

Alright I'll steer clear of an anemone for a while...if I keep a brain can I keep it on the bottom of my tank or should I try to get it up near the tup? Thanks-Greg

All of the above are good choices. An anenome is not a good idea until the tank is stable and 6 mos or older. If you ever do decide to go with an anenome look for a e. quad aka bubble tip anenome that is tank bred. They are becoming more and more available and should do fine with proper research, care and feeding.
