Help me please!!

i have had my tank setup for about 2 months now and started to notice something growing out of a rock that i got from my mother. she had the rock sittin and a box for about a year so nothing should have been living on it still i washed it off and put in my tank and now have this red coral lookin spot on it growing and yes i bought the zenia and the musroom and added it to the rock

First off, Welcome to saltwaterfish.com boards!!

If you are referring to the red spot on the rock, it looks like some old red coraline algae. Nothing at all to worry about. Seeing it was sitting dry for a year it is dead and also harmless to your tank.

Also think it looks like some old dried up algae.
The more imporant question is, do you have plants in your tank?

it started growing when i put it in the tank wasnt there before that and yes i do have plants in my tank
