Hyposalinity is well outlined in the stickies at the top of this forum. It is time-consuming but not particularly difficult. Just make sure you get a refractometer (which you will find that you prefer to use for you main tank anyway after you have used it a few times).
The learning curve for saltwater is steep. Most people make silly mistakes when they are starting out. However, the knowledge of people on these boards is a great asset to help you through the learning process.
After you have been doing saltwater for a while, it is not particularly difficult. The tank cannot be ignored as freshwater top offs have to continue. However, if you follow the other procedures on these boards, you will find that the hobby does not take up too much time after your tank is established. Then you and your fish will be much happier. :happyfish
