Help my Chevron tang

I recently purchased a perfect looking 3" to 31/2" chevron tang. After the first day he had a nipped fin. Now he has a bite mark in the flesh that looks like a small chunk or maybe claw marks, one on the side foward of his tail fin and on his face between his side. He is still eating like a pig and stays active during the day. The other inhabitants are; 1 percula clown, 1 pajama cardinal, 1 hippo tang (1.5"), 1 green chromis, red legged hermits, snails, AND... a fairly good size CB shrimp and a huge hermit crab. The last 2 are my suspects, the CB seams somewhat aggresive at times and the hermit crab eats all my turbo snails. Any suggestions ??? The fins could have been from another fish but I don't understand the bites from the flesh. ANY help would be nice, these bites are like $20 chunks out of my innocent fish. Will the flesh come back to the way it was? As long as he is eating is there any thing else I should do for treatment that would be reef safe.
