HELP! My fish ate my shrimps legs and antennae off!

Ok I looked into my tank and all was well before I went to do something then when I came back an hour later my coral banded shrimp was struggling against the current to stay upright with little nubs for legs and no antennae left. My fish eat gennerously and haven't bothered any other invert or the shrimp ever. I took a smaller tupperware and filled it hallfway and floated it and put him in there with some food and he grabbed the food with his claw and put it in his mouth.
Will his antennae and legs grow back? What should I do?

it will take time for them to come back but the next time the shrimp molts he will be whole again. The only thing is that if your fish picked and ate the appendages then as soon as its reintroduced they will do it again.
Might think of doing a trade in after he gets everything back.

Yellow Tang, 3 Oscellaris Clowns, 2 Yellowtail damsels, Royal Gramma. I might set up another tank an dif not I will sell him to the lfs. How long will it take to grow back? Thank you.

it really depends on the shrimp some will molt quickly after damage is done others will stay with there normal molting routine and can take a couple of months or more. So what got the shrimp do you know?

When I walked in the damsel were kinda shoving it and picking at it while it was trying to stay right side up. I cycled my tank with them so it wouldn't bother me to take them back to the lfs.

i would get rid of the damsle and ONE clown cus later the clowns will pair up and kill the 3rd.
i dont know what got it thought? wierd maybe the damsels. no one likes thjose little guys even thought they look nice in a huge school!
how big a tank this is in the nano forum right?

so get rid of damsel and a clown and good luck

75 some say 125 its oppinonated i guess but they do like a long swimming room.

The longer the better but at least 4 foot with 5+ being better. with such a small place to swim the develope a disease called HLLE that can kill them along with stress them and make them more susceptable to ich and other parasites.

Seriously, your tang won't tell you when he's to big for his tank... He'll just die suddenly.
