help! my pump!

i just got new power cords with timers to replace the really old one that i had. so i unplugged all my pumps, lights, and power heads. but when i went to plug my little giant 3 back in, it wouldn't start back up. it just hums! wtf!
at first i thought it may have been the power strip so i plugged it into the wall and the same thing... this pump is only a month old! anyone have any ideas?

impeller is prob dirty. Take it out and clean it.

the pump is only a month old and the tank only has water in it.
if i take the pump apart and it's not dirty will that effect the warranty
the pump is a Little Giant - 3-MDQ-SC
