Thanks Beth, maybe i will get lucky and get a color that denotes some trace chemical that I didn't know I had in there.I'm going to bet that you wasted your money. Up the salinity, do the acclimation, and I think you'll be fine. Sometimes its just bad luck.
Typically, invertebrates are more sensitive to bad water conditions than a hardy fish like a clownfish. That said, if changes are made gradually, it's surprising what kind of conditions these critters can survive in. As Beth suggested, get your salinity up and acclimate your fish (I highly recommend the slow-drip method), and I think you'll be fine, also. Thanks Beth, maybe i will get lucky and get a color that denotes some trace chemical that I didn't know I had in there.
I imagine like you said it is just bad beginners luck. I am sure if there were anything really wrong with the tank the Serpent and the Shrimp would not be doing so good. The Shrimp (Fire and Cleaner) both molt almost every 2 weeks and are growing big.
i'll give the Poly-Pad the required 48 hours to see if it changes color then Wednesday after work i will put 2 more cheap fish in there and see how it goes.
I have a 4 stage RO/DI.What water are you using in your tank?
A mated pair will typically consist of a male and female. If they're the same size, they could be considered a "bonded" pair.If I have 2 clowns that are living peacefully together, does that mean they are a mated pair?
You were right, 1 week with the Poly-Filter under the drain hose in my sump resulted in nothing more than a dark brown filter.I'm going to bet that you wasted your money. Up the salinity, do the acclimation, and I think you'll be fine. Sometimes its just bad luck.
I am not sure why you want him to do quarantine, what is possible damage? He have no fish in the tank.If you are not doing quarantine, then its risky business.
Hopefully he will be able to add more fish...if these turn out to have a parasite or disease, he just contaminated the display by not using a quarantine first...Quarantine is not to make sure the new fish do not get a disease or parasite from the display, it's the other way around.I am not sure why you want him to do quarantine, what is possible damage? He have no fish in the tank.
