I made the dumb move of reorganizing my rock work. Ever since I rearranged the rock work I have been dealing with nitrates at around 60-80 ppm. I have done two water changes one about 20% and another at about 10% with little affect to the nitrates. After my first water change I cleaned out about 1/2 of my bio-balls. That did not help although I did find all sorts of trapped food particles in the bio balls. I have searched the whole tank for possible dead fish or stars or anything and have found nothing. What have I done wrong?? Did I stir the tank up to much when I rearranged my rock?
Any thoughts or suggestions would greatly be appreciated. This problem has been bugging me for slightly over two weaks now. I have not lost any corals in the tank although my trumpets have not been looking that good of late and my anemone went through a stage where I thought it was going to die but it has been looking better as of late.
