Is it a predatory snail? Is it going to eat my clam?
It is a predatory Snail. Research "Buccinidae Whelk".
It will try to eat your Clam but the shell is probably too thick for it to penetrate. If it were me I would remove the Whelk but they are good at cleaning up dead animals and leftover food.
