they prolly used another tank for advertisment..but its prolly just curved out a little in the front....

Yea the second tank looks different that the first one in your 2 links but that might be the angle of the picture too. I beleve that the corners are rounded and not pieced together but Im not sure. I do know from seeing them in the store that the front is slightly rounded to give that panoramic view.

I'm late coming into this thread, but........
My first saltwater tank was a 10 gal. I was always fighting to keep everything in check, primarily specific gravity (salt). In such a small tank, changes happen quick and you have to really stay on top of it to keep everything with tolerable limits.
If you stick with 10 gal, keep it away from sunlight to control algae growth and water evaporation.
This is definitely a hobby of patience.
