My eel has not eaten in the past week. Bought him probably 1.5 weeks ago. At first he would eat great, he'd eat 3 or so pieces of krill. As each day passed he would eat less until to the point of not eating at all. My guess is he has now gone 6-7 days without eating. For the first few days he would swim around back and forth in the tank like nothing is wrong then go hide as usual. This happened yesterday also. Today is a different story, woke up and went down to feed the fish and he was lying on the bottom of the tank...He'd try to go into his holes but could not..seems like a lack of coordination and not enough energy. He seems to be at the point where he isnt breathing properly and just lays around. His colors look fine with the exception of around the tail and up his dorsel...it's redish in color. To explain the redish in color...It looks like someone put red dye in the water and his tail and dorsel fins absorbed it..That's how the coloration looks on the eel. Please respond asap and throw up ideas...he may not live at this point but I truely want to do everything I can to aid his survival. He lives with 2 damsels and they look great, eat great, and have great coloration.
