Whats going on with my anemone? It was a pretty brown and now it looks white. My PH is 8.2 , ca is 340( a little low but my other anemone is well along with the rest of my corals, water is 1.023, no nitrate. :notsure:

what is the gallon size of your tank? what lights do you have? it looks like it is bleaching.

it is a 55 gallon tank and the lighting is 55w blue and 10kk I bought this light in Dec.

To little lighting... That's 1 watt per gallon, alot of people who just start out say they have enough light.....I would get a PC (Power Compact) and go for 200-250 watts

Zoothanthellae is sybotic it takes the light and makes food for the anemone, When the anemone expells it its about to die Very few people have saved an anemone after this

Zooanthelle are symbiotic algae that give the corals energy from their photosynthesis....

Does the lighting have to change

your lighting is way to little. most anemones need metal halide to keep color and some people get lucky with pc. i think it is your light.
